155. Required Safety Equipment for 6-Pack Charter Vessels

A legal 6-pack charter must carry:

• USCG-approved life jackets for each passenger
• Throwable flotation device
• Fire extinguishers
• Visual distress signals
• Sound-producing device
• Navigation lights
• Backfire flame arrestor (gas engines)

Regulations fall under 46 CFR Subchapter C.

Failure to carry required equipment can result in citation or shutdown.
